John E. Brennan
John’s academic work includes a PhD from Virginia Tech’s center for public administration and policy, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, and a BS from the US Military Academy at West Point. Having served for 20 years in both the public and private sectors, he is responsible for Amazon Web Service’s international expansion function focused on the public sector. Most recently he led the business cases for building AWS Regions in the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also leads AWS’s organizations responsible for responding to government cloud procurements. He routinely advises countries on cloud adoption strategies for government and development of Information Communications Technology sectors. He developed AWS’s Clo udStart program to seed cloud computing into global public sector economic development organizations such as incubators, chambers of commerce, and sovereign wealth funds. His prior professional experience focused on strategy planning, business planning, and product planning for digital content products at global consultancies like Booz Allen Hamilton.
