Roberta S. Russell
Roberta S. Russell received her Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, an M.B.A. from Old Dominion University and a B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Dr. Russell's primary research and teaching interests are in the areas of operations and supply chain management, service operations, humanitarian supply chains, and security, risk and resilience. She has published in Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, IIE Transactions, IEEE Transactions, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Research, Computer Law and Security Review, Computers and Operations Research and others. She is also co-author of two texts, Service Operations Management and Operations and Supply Chain Management (8e). Dr. Russell is a member of DSI, INFORMS, ASQ, POMS and APICS. She is past president of the Southwest Virginia Chapter of APICS and has held numerous offices in Southeast DSI and POMS. She holds CFPIM and CSCP professional certifications and is an associate editor for two academic journals. Dr. Russell has received the Pamplin College of Business Certificate of Teaching Excellence on two occasions, the University Certificate of Teaching Excellence, and the MBA Association's Outstanding Professor Award. She is currently serving as President of the APICS Foundation and co-director of the Supply Chain Academic Talent Initiative (SCTAI).
