Michelle Seref

Biography

Dr. Michelle Seref is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and a Collegiate Professor of Business Information Technology Department in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. In her role as Associate Dean, she works with departments on their undergraduate business curriculum in accounting, information technology, finance, hospitality, management, marketing, and real estate. She works with college and university leadership on undergraduate data analytics tracking key performance indicators for undergraduate excellence. Dr. Seref directs academic and experiential programs for the business school including academic advising, undergraduate teaching assistantships, undergraduate research, career services and professional development, undergraduate international programs, recruiting and outreach programs, living learning communities, and student organizations and mentorship programs. She leads college-wide pedagogy workshops and teaching roundtables for faculty training in experiential learning. Dr. Seref's research in operations management, decision support systems, and text mining is highly cited.
