What are you passionate about or what are your hobbies?: For my senior year, I’ve made it a point to try to explore new hobbies and step outside my comfort zone! I’ve been experimenting with cooking and baking, trying out new recipes. Banana bread has been my favorite so far! I also attempted playing the guitar, which has been a fun but challenging outlet. It’s been a year of trying new things and finding joy in small, everyday moments.

What made you decide to choose BIT as your major and why did you choose your major/option (DSS, OSM, CMA) : I originally came to Virginia Tech as a business undecided major with the intent to explore the many options that Pamplin had to offer. I chose BIT in the middle of my sophomore year after being exposed to some of the foundational BIT courses. I think what really attracted me to BIT and specifically CMA was the diversity of skills it offers and the wide range of career paths it opens up. What truly solidified my decision, though, was the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring BIT faculty members. Their passion for the field, real-world experience, and dedication to student success made a lasting impression on me.

Tips/advice for student success: Step outside your comfort zone and take advantage of everything Virginia Tech has to offer! Whether it’s joining clubs and organizations, getting involved in Greek life, or simply starting a conversation with someone new in your class, every experience can teach you something valuable. There’s so much to learn from your peers, professors, faculty, and advisors; so be engaged and don’t be afraid to use the resources around you!
