Name: Peyton Coleman

What are you passionate about or what are your hobbies?: I am passionate about engaging with my community and serving others in everything I do! In my role as VP of Treks for Collegiate Women in Business, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to coordinate networking visits with alumni at 13 different company sites in Austin, TX, and New York City, NY. I also love playing intramural sports at Virginia Tech—it’s a fun way to stay active and connect with friends while maintaining both my physical and mental health.
What made you decide to choose BIT as your major and why did you choose your major/option (DSS, OSM, CMA): I chose BIT because I’ve always loved math and knew I wanted to pursue a career in business. I selected the Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSM) concentration after a summer internship, freshman year, with ALDI USA, where I worked on their impressive Just-in-Time inventory system and advanced supply chain network. The internship sparked my interest in the logistics and operations aspects of BIT.
Tips/advice for student success: My advice for students is to be willing to try anything once and to embrace unexpected change!
