Program Costs and Financial Aid

Information about Virginia Tech's tuition and fees can be found on the VT Bursar’s page

  • To be considered for scholarships, students transferring to Virginia Tech in the fall should submit their General Scholarship Application[KW1]  by the January deadline (see the website for exact date).
  • To be considered for financial aid, students should submit their The Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA), as soon as it becomes available (see the website). It may also be necessary to update your previous FAFSA to include Virginia Tech.
  • For maximum scholarship and financial aid consideration file your FAFSA and the General Scholarship Application by the January deadline (see this website for exact date).
  • Review this option if you are a Virginia student otherwise ineligible to file the FAFSA. Virginia Tech's priority filing deadline for state aid programs is March 1.
  • Virginia students planning to transfer to Virginia Tech in the semester following graduation with an associate’s degree, may be eligible for the Two-Year College Transfer Grant.

Scholarships, federal financial aid, and grants may help you make pursuing the Cybersecurity Management and Analytics (CMA) program in Northern Virginia more affordable. Federal financial aid comes in the form of loans (that you need to repay) and grants. Unlike a loan, you won’t need to repay a scholarship or a grant if you meet the terms of the scholarship or grant.

To apply for a cybersecurity scholarship, you need to meet the eligibility requirements. Then if you are eligible, you need to complete and submit the application by the deadline. These types of scholarship providers typically look for academic excellence and interest in national security. You often submit transcripts that show you meet a certain GPA and/or have SAT/ACT scores within an accepted range. Some cybersecurity scholarship examples are the Department of Defense Cyber Service Academy Scholarship Program and the CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service.

Many scholarship providers base their decisions on financial need. This means you must show some family income tax information and file a FAFSA. Apart from this, many scholarship providers want to know about you and your goals. You may need to write an essay on a prompted question, provide references, and have an up-to-date current resume.
