Biography

Jeremy Sudweeks is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Business Information Technology. He holds an M.Eng. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in Statistics and a B.S. in Statistics and Information Systems from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Sudweeks has two decades of experience in various sponsored research technical and leadership roles while at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI). His functional expertise includes large scale data processing, data integrity, data curation, analytics, project management, and sponsor relationship management.  

Mr. Sudweeks has worked with several research sponsors in a variety of technical and leadership roles including PI, co-PI, and project manager. Sponsors included federal transportation agencies, state DOTs, non-profit organizations, as well as commercial enterprises. Efforts spanned a wide variety of transportation research areas including crash risk estimation, analyzing driver behavior, validation of automotive systems, and dissemination of large-scale data assets to researchers at public and private institutions.
