Samara Moore

As a Senior Principal Security Industry Specialist at AWS, Samara Moore brings over 25 years of cybersecurity expertise across public and private sectors. Her career includes a decade of federal service, highlighted by roles at the Department of Energy and the White House National Security Council, where she helped develop foundational security frameworks still used today.

She has led security programs and shaped cloud security requirements for private sector companies, including managing enterprise security for a major energy provider and advancing cloud security initiatives at AWS. Her work bridges security and compliance, technology, and business needs across regulated industries.

A Virginia Tech and George Washington University graduate, Samara combines technical knowledge with strategic insight. She is passionate about giving to the community, serving as an ISC2 Board Member and advisor to several non-profit cybersecurity organizations, and is a former adjunct professor at George Washington University.

When not advancing cybersecurity initiatives, Samara enjoys outdoor activities with her family, particularly running, hiking, and beach trips.
